California's legislators are introducing two new bills aimed to ease the funding delays caused by the Continuum of Care Reform (CCR) a new approval process for foster parents and relative caregivers.
OklahomaState Senate Bill 1140 will enable faith-based child welfare providers to discriminate against LGBTQ couples and perhaps even children in the system. This bill is being heard by the State Senate and if passed will be joining seven states who have recently enacted similar laws.
Oregon Governor Kate Brown has requested $14.5 million in additional funding after the Oregon Secretary of State audit in January showed under-staffing and high staff turnover rates are putting children in foster care in danger.
