Kansas House members are still being pressured to pass a bill they have rejected twice concerning state contracts and grants for foster and adoption agencies who refuse to place children in homes of same sex couples or families of different religious denominations.

Kentucky House Bill 1 has passed with bipartisan support and will overhaul all aspects of the child welfare system. This bill will also reduce social worker caseloads and create new oversight and time limits for the adoption process.

Vermont Bill H.589 will ensure that foster parents will not have to request social worker signatures and state background checks for simple activities like field trips, sleepovers and after-school activities.
