Understanding successful public-private partnerships that engage in exchange work to recruit, develop and support adoptive families for children in foster care is critical to promote adoptions throughout the country.  In 2017 AEA, the Adoption Exchange Association, partnered with Morgan State University, Maryland’s largest historically Black University and preeminent urban research institution, to conduct an assessment of its members. The university studied local, regional and national adoption exchange organizations, private adoption agencies, and public child welfare systems who all engage in finding permanent loving homes for children in foster care. The purpose of the assessment was to better understand the range of services that adoption organizations offer, their style of service delivery, who they serve, and uncover trends of effective practice.

Findings of this first assessment will be shared with webinar participants in aggregate including: survey respondent composition, service delivery styles, and categories of service. AEA and Morgan State University will also share quantitative and qualitative impact information and methodologies used to serve children and families. Lastly we will engage in a facilitated Q&A with attendees.
