This training will focus on mindfulness techniques that support a sharper understanding of what's going on inside ourselves to respond to stress more effectively and to improve health and well-being. Living in the present moment in a more mindful way strengthens our connection to ourselves and others and gives us tools to thrive and grow. Techniques include breathing exercises, movement, meditation, guided imagery, biofeedback, autogenic training, healthy mindful eating and the use of drawings and journals.

Participants will learn the following:

  • The physiological impact of stress on body, mind and spirit, and the importance of clinicians and caregivers of practicing stress management skills and self-compassion
  • To identify the myths and realities of burn out and learn skills to prevent it from happening (mitigating stress)
  • "Destressifying" techniques, including using the 5 senses and "7 steps to destressify" developed by davidji.
Create a "self-care" plan for daily self-compassion practice to minimize the efects of stress and enhance well-being.
