Louisiana lawmakers have come up with $1 million in the current budget year to pay to "take care of" youth in foster care until they are 21 years of age. A legislatively backed panel is being launched to design a program that would extend the foster care age.

Maine Governor Paul LePage is trying to pass a child welfare and tax reform. He is pressuring lawmakers to support and to tackle "tax conformity".

Missouri Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition received a grant to initiate The Dennis and Judy Jones Family Foundation Foster Care and Adoption Program in 2017 to train potential foster families, with the goal to license and retain as many families as possible.
