Maine Governor Janet Mills reconvened the Children's Cabinet after a hiatus. They aim to address child poverty, streamlining the home visitation program, improve staff training and hire a chief pediatrician. Their main goals are to provide support to the youngest children and at risk youth.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has proposed to double the $30 million budget to increase allocation for child service agencies to $60 million. This increase will help overwhelmed children services providers to combat the opioid crisis. Ohio House or Representatives is trying to change a $10,000 tax credit from non-refundable to refundable. State Representatives Reggie Stoltzfus (R) and Janine Boyd (D) are working on this bipartisan bill.

Washington Seattle based nonprofit Treehouse provides a program called Running Start Program. Due to its success rate Cheney School District Superintendent Robert Toettger has taken notice and states its success because of its community partnerships.
