Indiana Department of Child Services employees will be receiving financial support to further their studies as part of the 2019 Child Welfare Scholars Program. This is in partnership with Indiana University School where employees can earn their master's degree in social work.

Iowa has become the 35th state to accept the Safe Haven Act that allows parents to leave an infant up to 30 days old at a hospital, health care facility or with a first responder.

Kentucky nonprofit YouthBuild is raising $1.9 million to help young adults in foster care to become self-sufficient. YouthBuild Louisville is part of YouthBuild USA and also has a recruiting, resume building program called SummerWorks.
