Florida parental rights bill HB 1059 clears the first house committee on Thursday. This bill creates a "Parent's Bill on Rights", where a state or other governments would not be allowed to limit a parent's right to direct the moral and religious upbringing, education, health care, and mental health of their children. Critics of the bill, like LGBTQ groups are concerned it will strip kids of inclusive education.
Nebraska Gov. Ricketts has announced the appointment of Stephanie Beasley as the next Director of Children and Family Services (CFS) Division. She has had extensive experience including 13 years of services in Indiana and later served as the Director of Child Welfare for Marion County and the Deputy Director for Field Operations leading the provision of child welfare services.
