NATIONAL adoption Campaign INTERN
Type: 7.5 hours per week
Commitment: September 3, 2019 – December 20, 2019
Education: Senior-level college student enrolled at a university or college studying communications, marketing, PR, social work, public administration, non-profit management or closely related field
Work Location: On-site at AEA headquarters, Linthicum, MD
Join our team and make a difference in the lives of children in foster care! The Adoption Exchange Association (AEA) is seeking a part-time (7.5 hours/week) National Adoption Campaign Intern to assist us with planning the National Adoption Month Campaign at AdoptUSKids.
AdoptUSKids is a federally-funded project operated by AEA and our partners through a cooperative agreement with the US Children’s Bureau. The intern will learn how to implement a national communications strategy to promote adoption from foster care, develop and execute a detailed plan and timeline for our national launch, media tour, and event, and how to develop and engage our national speakers bureau comprised of adoptive families. The intern will work one day per week at AEA headquarters in Linthicum Heights, MD.
Event Planning: The intern will be responsible for working with the team to develop and update our event workplans and assist with completing work to ensure timelines are met.
Logistics: The intern will be responsible for researching hotels, flights, transportation for our events and the participating speakers and developing/updating timelines.
Speakers Bureau: The intern will be responsible for assisting the team with strategies to develop and engage our national speakers bureau of adoptive families.
· Passionate about our cause
· Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
· Access to reliable transportation
· Understanding of social media
· Ability to work independently and take initiative
· Strong writing skills
